pre-birthday cupcake fiesta.

Mini visit home.
Too mini for my taste.

I mostly spent the time with my sweet mama.
Shopping, talking, shopping some more, eating, shopping some more,
and surprise pre-birthday cupcake party.
(The reason we shopped so much is because mom really wanted me to buy something for my bday, but I couldn't find anything I really liked. I'm just going to say it- Lubbock's shopping sorta sucks. But you've gotta love mom's persistence. She's a fighter. Love her.)

Isn't this a sweet cupcake? It was pink champagne, but don't worry- I'm pretty sure it was alcohol free.

Thinking of my wishes took me longer than I think it ever has,
I think I thought of the best three birthday wishes I ever have.

yummy, no?

...my brother ordered the bacon cupcake... I still don't know how I feel about it.

Life at home is so sweet.
Literally, for me.

Miss it already.

So Long, WGA.

Hi friends. Some of you may know that Gideon's been working on the Governor's staff for about a year and a half now. Specifically, he works for the Western Governor's Association, which includes a lot of meetings, planning and preparation for the governor (who this past year was the chair of the WGA). The annual (and last) meeting was a few weeks ago in northern idaho, and it went beautifully thanks to my gid. I'm so proud of him.

The resort we got to stay in was right off of the lake and suuper fancy. People kept asking me what I wanted to drink, and for some reason, I kept saying root beer.
I think I might be gaining weight you guys...

Moral of the story: northern idaho is friggin' beautiful.

Makes me want to wear stripes, sandals and a floppy hat and fish for the rest of my life.
Or just drink root beer alot on the lake. With my inevitable root beer belly.

We found lots of treasures up north. Such as:

Longest Floating Boardwalk in the World, People. In the WORLD.

Gideon's new fav restaurant. It was cheap and delicious.

Treasured time with sweet sweet friends on the lake.

Goooorrrggeeeooouusss views.
(I was only an hour or so away from Canada, Britt!)

A visit to Silverwood including four times on this bad boy:

Have any of you been on a roller coaster that goes upside down while twirling with Gideon?
You should. It's kind of hilarious. I love my man.

Dear Canada,

I know it's belated, but I've been meaning to wish you a happy Canada Day for a while now. I was hoping to celebrate it by going to the very edge of the United States and touching the border, but it didn't work out. I'd like to thank you for several things, Canada.

#1: My best friend Brittany Nelson King.

#2: The wonderful experiences I had going on dance tours throughout Western Canada in 2005, and Eastern Canada in 2007.

#3: Anne of Green Gables. (and Gilbert Blythe, of course.)

#4: The wonderful honeymoon Gid and I had.

#5: Your oreos. I know most americans say our oreos are better, but they're lying. Yours are the best.
